When it comes to writing for news media outlets it is easily to get frustrated with the system. There is some news that must be published for the public good. Unfortunately there are gate keepers that try to keep the information from the general public. Sometimes it is for money and sometimes it is to prevent burning bridges.
The bottom line comes first and the interest to the public comes in a distant second. I am a capitalist and believe in making money. I don’t believe in sacrificing the truth for profit. It is time we get back to the root of journalism.
Sometimes it is hard to do the right thing and give the people that information that they need. But journalist should follow the story no matter where it leads. We are stronger built of a foundation of truth than on a bed of lies.
At the core of journalism is the search for truth. It is laying out the facts for people to make up their own minds. I couldn’t find that at the places that would have me so I decided to make my own place. Not just for me, but for others that strive for the truth.
I will build that team to do hard hitting investigative journalism. I will build that team that will not compromise on ethics. That team will be known as the Free New Media.
We will be free from industry pressure. We will be free from censorship. We will free from those that want to control your thoughts and actions. We might fail, but if we succeed we can change our industry and our.

- Not enough research – Once a story breaks every site runs with it. The problem is that most reporters just rephrases the same old stories. If you are not first on reporting on a topic and you need to add information to make it useful.
- Tied to the industry – “The Industry” is the corporate sponsors that hold the purse strings. Behind the scenes at a lot of publications give these faceless companies have the ability to bury stories. These publications value the dollar over their readers. At Free New Media we strive to be different. We will fight back against corporate censorship.
- Free Speech – We believe in free speech and will publish op eds as the writer sees fit without major editing of the content. Some op eds that we will run we won’t agree with and will cause ripples. That is the price of free speech.
- Substance over fluff – We will always choose substance over fluff. Our reporting will be in depth.
- Honesty – No paid reviews. No paid stories. Paid reviews and paid stories are ads. We will not risk our credibility for a buck.
- News VS Opinion – News stories and op ed articles will be marked separately. It is important for the reader to know what they are reading.
